Four membership categories, open to sponsoring organizations, the people who work for them, and the firms that serve them.
Categories & dues

| Sponsoring Organizations | $250per year (recommended) | Yes | SWCDs, WCIDs, cities, counties and other political subdivisions of the State of Texas that have entered into long-term O&M agreements with USDA-NRCS. |
| Sponsoring Members | $25per year | Yes | Elected and appointed representatives of sponsoring organizations. |
| Associate Firms | $250per year (recommended) | No | Consulting engineering firms and others who support the mission of TAWS. |
| Associate Members | $25per year | No | Individual consulting engineers and others who support the mission of TAWS. |
For entities that can make a donation in addition to their dues, TAWS recognizes them at a future meeting.
What membership gets you
Dues fund the work of keeping the Small Watershed Program funded.
- A Steering Committee working to secure adequate state and federal funding for the PL-534, Pilot and PL-566 Small Watershed Program.
- Representation with the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, the TCEQ and NRCS on dam safety rules and other issues affecting sponsors.
- The annual meeting, where sponsors, agencies and consulting firms share what is working.
- The newsletter, meeting minutes and the full presentation archive.
- Templates and guidance other sponsors have already paid to develop — development rules, easement refresh language and more.
- Membership in the National Watershed Coalition, which TAWS belongs to and supports at the national level.
Over the years TAWS has received donations from several sponsors and others. Entities that can give in addition to their dues are recognised at a future meeting.

The membership year runs 1 March 2027 through 28 February 2028. Make cheques payable to TAWS.
